If ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work!

Well hello there!
This week has been absolutely brilliant. I have had a few trying moments but it was in those moments that I grew stronger! We had Zone Conference last week which seems forever ago now that I think about it...anyway, it was so great! We talked a lot about asking inspired questions. You really have to rely on the spirit for that one. It's hard sometimes but like the Apostle Peter sometimes you need to just step out of the boat! We certainly did that this week. President Ogden said in Zone Conference that if the spirit is there in our lessons we should invite them to be baptized......eek! It's true though. People will never get baptized unless we ask. So we asked 2 more investigators this week if they will follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. They were both hesitant, Ingrid said that she would but it didn't sound too terribly convincing and Tim said that he feels like he is years away from being ready for something like that! We will keep teaching them and inviting the spirit into our lessons and then it may come sooner than they realize.
We also met with the cutest couple in the world this week! Ok so maybe not the absolute cutest but they are pretty great. We tracted into Lianne one night a few weeks back and she invited us to come back and when we did she wasn't home but her husband was and then he invited us to come back and when we did we had a great time getting to know them and they asked us so many questions! Neither one of them are religious at all but are fairly open minded to the idea of religion. Lianne more so than Greg but they are both just so cool. Greg said that he was excited to have us over again because we are "interesting". haha I guess that's one way of putting it. We went back just on Saturday and their two little girls were awake and, boy are they a handful! We didn't have the most effective lesson because they had to keep disciplining their girls but they set up another time for us to come back one night when the girls are sleeping. AND we are having a ward activity this Friday night. It's a talent and quiz night, which quiz nights are pretty popular here apparently. All of our investigators that we have been inviting to it have been really excited for it, sometimes I think a little too excited ;) Greg especially is looking forward to quiz night. hehe they make me laugh.
We met this lady on the street name Janneke (she is Dutch) on the way home from church yesterday and she straight away told us that religion was not something that she was even remotely into and that she had just "struggled to get away from the muslims" and that she would not be interested in us telling her that she would be cast down if she didn't repent.....all we did was say hello...haha I love people like that. It happens so much with street contacting. People see you and automatically go off on this story about how they have somehow been wronged by religion. But we told her who we were and what we do as missionaries and mentioned the Book of Mormon and you should have seen her face! I have never seen someone get so excited about a book before! I pulled one out of my backpack and before I could hand it to her she was already reaching for it! We gave it to her and she said that she would be very interested to read it but she will read it "with no commitment, mind you!" and she asked us where the church was because she would like to look around "with no commitments, you underrstand". So we invited her to our ward activity on Friday and she is excited to come for that. AND we are going to her house on Thursday to help her unpack her house; yesterday was her first day in Stroud. But again we are going to help her out "with no commitment, mind you". haha what a sweet daughter of God! So we are looking forward to seeing her this week.
We got a new ward mission leader yesterday which will be really great! We are so exctied because when we met with Joe he is so on fire and ready to do whatever he needs to do to get missionary work going in the ward. He is an RM of 2 years and still has such a great passion for missionary work, especially member missionary work. So I feel great things will come from this!
Oh man, I sure do love it here. Even though I have met some people who have it so engrained in their brains that God could not possibly exist, and that we have been horribly misguided and mislead and that our whole state of being is a fraud and hypocritical, my heart aches for them. I pray that one day their hearts will be softened and that they will see just how much God loves them. I take great comfort in knowing that they will get another chance to hear about the gospel...I sure hope they take it. Being a missionary is the greatest. I love the light in people's eyes when they talk about it. I have grown to love more and more the scriptures. My hour of personal scripture study in the morning just isn't long enough some days! It goes by so fast. Last week was just a blur and I cannot believe that transfers are next week already! AHHH I have so much to do before then! Remember that the church is true!
Love you all!!!
Love, hugs, and fist bumps,
Sister Benson
PS- Enos rocks! ;) seriously, go study it....
